hey guys so ive had my 06 tl for awhile and i decided to try and pair up my iphone 5 with the HFL..i pressed the talk button and said phone setup but the problem is that it leads me to something else all the time which is frustrating..what could the problem be?do i need a new bluetooth module or what?any other way i can pair up my iphone to the car??please

 

Press End Button for 10 seconds to enter in diagnositic mode.. if the system says "the handsfreelink system is ok" it means that there isnt any electrical problem and maybe you would have to change the unit.

but when you say Phone Setup the system has to respond: Phone setup are status, pair, edit, delete and list

 

when i say phone setup is usually pops up the screen but it never says what u just told me :\ i even yell it out to make sure it can hear me wel but no..thanks though

 

by the "end button" is that the one u press to talk?

 

it did the same exact thing to me.. i just used my phone translater to say it for me and it worked, you have to sound like a robot pretty much

 

how do you use the translator?on the iphone right?

 

I had the same problem with getting the system to understand me. After several attempts, learned you have to talk " hooked on phonics" style to get it to recognize. Not the best voice recognition system out there. I have no problems with the "Sync " system in our Ford Escape
