I may have posted this once upon a time, but since I'm suffering from brain fog these dayz, I thought I'd better get confirmation here before I go out and spend money on parts.

My driver side headlight only comes on about once every 5 turn on attempts. It got fine for awhile turning on right away, but the problem has returned. Is that just the ballast? The fact that it turns on at all means the ignitor is OK, right? The bulbs were replaced about a year ago and at that time, it turned out I needed an ignitor on the passenger side.

It could be either ballast or igniter, switch the igniter from left side to right to rule that out. Then you'll determine definitely what it is and just purchase the one part. My bet is on ballast though

 

I agree, but the thought of having to remove the bumper just to do that test make me ill.

 

Maybe buy both just to have on hand and return as necessary to just limit bumper removal to one time?

 

is it doing this? At first its my DRL but when I engage my low beam the drivers side flickers and stays off while the passenger side goes from HI to LOW
