Handsfreelink freezes when pairing any phone
Title pretty much explains it.
I get all the way through the pairing process where on my phone I'm putting in the code (1111) and it shows up on the information center on the car but stays frozen there. The CD player just says "phone".
The "phone" message on the CD player will not go away unless I unhook the battery.
I'm guessing the HFL is shot. My phone is compatible btw, I checked on the HFL website.
Anyone else having this problem? is there a fix for it? or do i need to get a new HFL?
If so, where can I get one for cheap, if possible?
Thanks again guys.

So I did some more digging and I found TSB 05-020 "handsfreelink HFL system does not work".
After reading it, my symptoms are exactly what is stated in the TSB.
Is this something that they will fix for free because there was a TSB for it? Anyone have any experience with this?

Multiple threads on this one - long story short, get a new HFL module and be done with it. There are guys who have tried baking the module with some success, but its best to spend 150-180 bucks and get a new one. I got mine from acuraoemparts, one of the sponsors and it worked like charm, plus the module was made in 2013 so its not an old or shot module - if you live on the phone like I do, then you're better of just getting a new module and be done with it.

So just because there was a TSB doesn't mean they will cover it for free huh?
Didn't know you could even buy it new, thought they could only be found used on EBAY which I didn't really find many available.
Thanks

Yup, steer clear of the ebay ones. The new ones from the dealer are way better and simple plug and play.
Some guys had it replaced from Acura while under warranty for free but if you are not under warranty you need to dig out the wallet. Still 180 isent too bad all things considered and its a 5 minute DIY to swap them out. Good luck.

That's ridiculous!
AZ vendors oemacuraparts.com and acuraoemparts.com (both are on-line parts departments of Acura dealerships) sell them for $180-$230, with the price depending on interior color and model year, IIRC.

I looked and couldnt find anything with HFL or "module" in it that would be the part. Can you point me in the right direction?
Mine stops at the actual pairing, when it says it is searching for a phone after I have entered a code, and my phone (new droid turbo) will not connect, sometimes saying it does not have the right code. (It never asks for a code on my phone).
Thanks.
