Handsfree pairing problem

I just got the Iphone 3g and have successfully paired the phone. However the next time i start my car it won't reconnect with the phone. It shows the handsfree-link as connected under bluetooth options on the phone but the car does not connect. Is anyone else having this problem?

how ironic that your username is encryption. have you tried turning off encryption on the connection in your phone?

also make sure the device is "trusted" and "allow connection: always" in your phone.

After I made my post above, I found a thread that said disable encryption. I will try it on my way home

Thanks for responding though.

After I turned encryption off in my BB, it paired instantly when I turned on the car both times when I drove home from work and back to work this morning. So far so good

You have to make sure that your phone supports the HFL profile (a list of settings which make it compatible with the car). Some carriers (such as Bell here in Canada) like to "Cripple" their cellphones' bluetooths, and thus only allowing certain bluetooth devices to connect successfully

Sounds like you're hitting the wrong button. Make sure you hit the button that looks like a phone receiver. Its higher up on the steering wheel (it pushes away from you, not toward you). Press that one and say "Phone Setup", then say "Pair".
