"hands free link" problems

i have a 2006 tl with 12,000 miles. yesterday the radio stopped playing and "hands free link" appeared in the display and froze there. the radio would not function.

the same thing happened in june and the dealer pulled a 40a fuse under the hood and told me they are having problems with the delco hands free link assembly....

when i returned home i turned the engine off and pulled fuse #15 briefly under the hood and everything returned to normal.

anyone else having this problem?

You accidentally pressed the HFL "talk" button, without a doubt.

I agree. I had the same thing happen to me the other day. I was on a call, and everything worked perfectly. When I went to disconnect from the call, I accidently hit the "talk" button instead of the "disconnect" button. That flat locked my system up. It constantly said "in use" and muted the radio. No matter what I did, I couldn't free it up. I pulled over and shut the car off and restarted it. Still wouldn't work. I figured I would wait until I got home that evening from work and pull the fuse and do a hard reboot. But when I came out to the car after work and started it, everything was back to normal!!

Even though you shut off the car, the bluetooth is still linked to the phone. I believe it can stay linked for up to 30 min.

You might have better success restarting the phone.

Good point....but I forgot to mention I did that. It didn't free up the car either. It was weird. I emailed the service writer I deal with and asked him what he thought. But of course, I have yet to hear back from him. It's been several days now. I'm forwarding the original to his boss. Nothing pisses me off more than to be ignored like that.

you want an answer you should call or go in. I wouldn't rely on email to get your problem resolved.
