Got a Navi DVD update from Acura
Got it yesterday and it's supposed to correct some minor software bugs. I live in Ontario/Canada therefore I am not sure if this software release applies to our friends across the south border.

Just woke up and checked the mail....and what do ya know...i got a package from Acura. In the package a Navigation DVD version 3.40C. It was free...never ordered it....they just sent it. In the letter it states:
"This package contains an updated Navigation System DVD. Although the updated disc does not include any new mapping, it has been revised to address a software problem that affected information displayed on the map. In some areas in Canada, the navi system will not display the street names at the 80m and 200m zoom scales. This disc being supplied to you will correct this condition."
It sucks that it contains no new mapping as some of the new highways and streets around where I live are a few years old and are not on the maps. I end up driving through parks and fields.
Anyone else in Canada get this??? what about our american friends???

It is a new dvd.....physically it is a new disc....it does not contain any new maps...it just has some upgrades....when driving in certain areas there are no street names on the map...the only name u get is the street u are driving on.....this problem is fixed with the new disc.

Just confirmed with Acura Customer Service. Canadians with 2005 TL and TSX Navis will get the new DVD version free. The update is still not available in Canada for 2004, but should be available soon for approx. $300 CDN plus tax. For me that would be about $345 after tax.
It just pisses me off since my street is not even on the nav DVD 3.30 but is on version 3.40

Hey TRK9 I'm guessing you have an 04TL with the 3.30ver. I don't know how the DVD's work from 04cars to 05cars but a whole lot of Canadians now have a useless 3.40A DVD. If they work fine in the 04 then I don't think Acura will be selling alot of updates.

Hey Mike, Yes I have '04 with 3.30G. The 04s and 05s have compatible if not identical Nav systems, the so 3.40A will work the same way in the '04 with the glitch.
I guess if I really want an update I'll have to buy it.
