Getting Bass in the Cab

Hey guys, I just installed my system....I have a A1400 JL amp with 1 JL 12w3 1ohm sub.

I have the sub in a sealed enclosure according to factory specs. the sub sounds good, but I would like to get more of the bass into the cab. What can I do with the least amount of modifying. I can even change out speaker size if needed.

thanks,

x2 ... This worked for my car.. although with 2000wrms I can hear it, it was louder with the pass thru down, and taking out the stock sub is almost like leaving the pass thru down.

Subs most of the time bump louder when facing the rear of the car... Just a thought you can try. I got a 300watt amp and 2 10" subs a can run over the factory speakers, so I keep the subs down a bit.

all in design and construction...

a propler designed and constructed ported enclosure will net you approx 3+ db of gain...in essence that takes one subwoofer...and makes it sound like 2...do the math..so if you have 2 ported subwoofers...it's equiv to 4 sealed subwoofers...all while using half of the power as the 4 would...

Sealed subs can be driven harder with more power. Ported subs are just as the sealed when properly constructed enclosure is used. Ported subs will +3db. And remember every time you want to double your db's, you have to double your wattage. They have specs on all sub woofers so use this to your advantage.

you are extremely wrong in that saying...to be twice as loud...what is accpeted as 10db's..you need ten times the power!!! yes TEN times the power...doubling the power gets you 3dbs more...

without changing anything electronically...u gain 3db just by changing the enclosure...

increasing the amplifier output will increase your current consumption thus takin a larger toll on your vehicle's charging system...

I just finished my install two weeks ago. I'm running JL 10w6 in uncald4 fiberglass sealed enclosure powered by JL 500/1v2. I'm F@#^en amazed the amount of bass one 10" delivered. It hits hard and acurate. Yes bass was minimized when I installed my seats but I still have booming bass, shaking my body/car up front. It feels like I'm running 2 subs. JL w6 this is a serious sub.

I removed my stock sub and have my armrest down so bass a travel.
