Garmin Mount?

I have a base '07 TL and a Garmin with a suction cup mount. I'm looking for a place to mount it other than the windshield. The best place I've found is about where the factory nav would be, in the center of the consol. The problem of course is that the suction cup is stuck to the dash display where the ac temp and compass are located. I'm worried mounting to this area wil crack the display. Any suggestions?

I lay mine in front of the gear shifter.. Although it tends to slide around a little bit and could possibly get in the way if you're 6MT. Fab up a mount to use one of the compartments in front of the gear shifter?

Thanks AMUA6. That's about the only place I've found and the power supply is right there which keeps the wire from getting in the way of other things.

I just tried the flat area in front and to the sides of the clock. It's a great location for the Garmin but the suction cup only holds for a few seconds. I don't want to drill anything into my dash.

I stuck the suction cup plate onto the flat shelf just below the clock on my 06 base - the unit will not suction onto the shelf since it is not smooth enough. It is to the right of the clock. The wires run up the left side. It is a decent spot.

Thanks for this suggestion. I found the suction cup plate (aka dashboard disc.) I may give that a try.
