frustrated with amp install and in dire need of help

I've been at this for 2 days with no success.... I wired the amp correctly... it turns on.

the settings on my amp are all the way up. my Line ouput converter is tapped into the subwoofer wires (tapped right at the stock sub) everything is plugged in where it should be. but i don't get sound through my aftermarket sub! i've tried 2 subs and 3 amps... all with the same end... no success...

any ideas?

Are you tapping before or after the stock amp? Try tapping in before the lines go into the stock amp.

tapping it before the amp wont work..the sound is very low and very inaudible

it sounds like to me that u didnt turn up the hi-low converter...try that, and if that does work...tell me what color the wires you tapped into are.

i added a sub as well and it works fine

i have a audiobahn 400w amp and a alpine type-s sub

just an FYI if what cliff said works for ya. I would turn those gains down first before ya blow your sub with distortion.

Just my .02

huh... i've re-wired EVERYTHING. seems like the main fuse for my main power seems to be going bad. the glass on the fuse is craked for some reason.. the fuse is intact, but i replaced the fuse at now it works... maybe it wasn't getting "clean" power? i dunno

but now the sub works, but i get a horrible rattle on the rear deck. even putting my hand and pressure on the rear deck.. the noise it just a little quite but very much still there.

and another problem is..... when i am listening to a CD/DVD and in the middle of listening i turn off the car... then come back to it and turn it on again and it resumes off the CD there is no sound at all... the CD is playing but no sound what-so-ever.. i even change to XM or FM/AM and still no sound.... but if i leave it on FM/AM or XM and turn of the car and turn it back on to resume XM, FM/AM the sound works and i can switch back to CD/DVD with sound. why is that?

and another problem is..... I cannot hear the audio when the key is in the "on" position (position II) the CD is playing and also the radio and XM are going as well, but no sound. I have to have the engine running in order to hear the music...

any ideas?

YO ... not to diss... but might want to go to the stereo shop what's 200 bucks on 30G ride ? .even if no bass u should have the factories playing ?????????? . (1) i ran 2 guage from bat (fuse dis block added) ... to the trunk ... as well as a 2 guage ground wire ... used the remote wire to the factory radio for amp or anything 12v that works with the key (volt meter needed) . remote wire to the AMP... as other said . can tap off exsisting sub ... allows control with fac head unit .... as for the rattles .. I dynamated the trunk, rear deck, take license plate assembly & plate off .. dynamate ...... 1 go 2 12 type r . and 1001.BD ... few rattles ... I went to acura .. saying my rear deck rattled .. the almost laughed me off the lot . but were nice enough to point out what they do for the factory fix of the problem .. just X3 what they did made it okay

tap the remote wire to the ignition wire instead of the stock amp Remote Wire... the stock amp remote wire only give 5-6 volts... the ignition wire give 12v. (all these wires are connected to stock amp)

coool ... glad its working ... good luck on the rattles ... but .. its possible to be almost rattle free .rear deck touching rear glass .. sounded like trunk vibrating to me. lic plate assembly must be padded/dynamat .. took me while to figure out ..3rd brake light.. if u get a weird . fan type rattle . sounded as if it was mufflers vibrating .. there were these vents . in the trunk .. have to take liner out . that caused the noise I put felt on them ... good luck . fyi // careful if using dynamat on entire trunk area .. i created a sound pressure issue... but created 2 ports into the cabin.. . to resolve ...
