Front speaker intstall pics?

Looking for any pics of front speaker (mids)installs. about to take on this project. I have been meaning to for a long time, and just wanted some input and pics of door installs so far.

got a few things accomplished yesterday. Got cabin filter changed, ran passenger speaker wire through factory wire molding into door, cut the speaker opening to allow for speaker to fit (first time I have used a dremel tool, love it! ) and made a spacer/baffle for the mids. These suckers are quite deep and massive, no mod necassary for the door panel- yes! was hoping I wouldnt have to do that.

I didnt get as much done as I had hoped due to some stuff come up that I have to leave town for.

Next up:
Sound deaden the doors
Install driver side door
Install tweets
install 3sixty.2 and amp.

I should get all this done next weekend. I will take some pics as I go, but have found many of the threads around here VERY useful! Thanks to all that have contributed.

I hope to get both doors dynamated, mids installed, 3sixty.2 installed and amp done today.

Good luck with everything... be sure to take some pics. Im considering tackling my system with a buddy since its so hard to find a competent installer in my area. How are u gonna hook up ur 3Sixty? Are u gonna splice rcas onto the factory wires before the factory amp? Im staying tuned for this one...

wow, so fishing speaker wire through the doors and the factory wiring harnesses is a PITA!!! but after a couple of cuts to the hand and a lot of cussing, they are complete!

got one door dynamatted and speaker baffle and mid installed.

will post some pics later tonight after I rap it up for the day.

I have found many useful threads on here and will link you tonight. Tackling this TL is quite a bit more tricky and tedious than my altima and maxima were. either way, I am going to get it done.

alright... I am calling it a day.

nothing like a little car audio install and a few cuts to the hands.

Today I got both doors deadened, I did some on the outer skin, and the entire inner skin of the doors. Got both speakers and baffles installed and wires ran through the factory harnesses (that was fun). the baffles are 1/2" mdf with 2 coats of truck bed liner sprayed on.

Let me know what you think so far...

here are some pics, I didnt do real detailed pics as there are plenty in the threads i referenced that are great.

this is just showing speaker baffle and some dynmatting.

This is just showing where the new wire was ran through the factory harness clean.

Some dynamatting, its like working puzzle.... and it was nice to find a box of dynamat I had left over from about 10 years ago.

Trimmed the door panel some for clearance, as well as had to cut off part of the big yellow foam piece thats on the back of the door panel.

and my little boogers installed nice and neat (Seas W16nx's) i love them! cant wait to get them some power and hear how they sound in the TL.

full door shot after complete.

Thoughts or comments welcomed.... thanks for looking.

I know this thread has aged a little, but cjj2d, can you elaborate a little more on how you got the wires through the factory harness and why it was such a PITA? Any tips to make it go easier would be greatly appreciated. I am getting ready to do this next week. Thanks.

Its because you have to drill a hole inside the molex plug to run the wire through the door.

got my peerless tweets intsalled. they started out square, dremeled the corners down to round out and fit in the stock location as well has cut out the back side of the factory tweeter housing.

It was quick and easy and turned out just as I wanted it to (thanks to many previous DIY's on this on the forums).

I am going to be switching over to a Seas Neo aluminum tweeter soon. These were just a pair I had around the house I thought I would see how they sound. Not too bad, but I think the Neo's will match better with my mids.

You didn't want to flush mount them to the factory tweeter cup?

I probably will with the new set. but they fit very nicely in that spot and the tweeter cup fits right over them nicely.

looks good, but i have a question regarding the placement of the speaker, you wouldn't think that it would sound better flush mounted versus where you have it mounted now?

yeah, i know.... but I read many good reviews on these tweets. especially when paired with some w/nx mids.... so I figure what the heck if I dont like them I am not out much.

my other thought was the Seas Lotus.... but those are quite a pretty penny. we shall see if i go that route. going to test these out for a few weeks first.

well, had some time today and started on a amp rack/floorof the trunk. my goal is to keep 90% of my trunk as usable space.

So I did away with the spare tire and built some bracing and floor. I used the spare tire bolt down to secure the bracing too. I am still going to make a cover with plexiglass window once I get the amp and 3sixty exactly where I want them and holes drilled and the wires ran down through them and cleaned up a bit more.

trying to keep stock look as much as possible.

let me know what you think..... going to be adding some SI BM's when available.

sorry for the crappy cell phone pics and shadows, using garage and halogens to light things up.

this is my first attempt at a floor/amp rack.... not done by any means. still gotta clean it up a bit. going to add a cover with lights and window to either go under the factory "lid" or in place of it. depends on if I have enough room.

yes, going to be running either one or two SI BM MKIV's when they are available. still have the sub channel of the amp ready to go.

I have a SI Mag 15 in my closet but it takes too much room and power. after I got this car I decided to go for real good sq, and minimal room sacrificed.
