Lightbulb Found a place to run your 0 AWG wiring into the car everyone...

ONLY can confirm on 6MT's...not sure what an auto has going on down there.

Found a place to easily run your 0 AWG wiring or any size for that matter.
Get under car, take off 4 bolts that hold on heatshield and slide it back. It's just above the 1st Catalytic that is connected to the Jpipe on a 3G TL and up top it's directly below/behind the ECU in the center console...it's an opening about 4" by 2" and can accomodate a very thick wire...can drill out the grommet and run the wire thru it and nobody would even know.

In my opinion, easier than dealing with the firewall AND can hide the wires under as well as enter the car in the center console...then it's a straight shot down the middle of the car to the trunk.

Good luck!
J.

Not a problem man!
Funny enough, I figured this out cause I'm a moron and I moved that grommet down and out when installing my shortshifter a few months ago...figured it out last night after months of wondering why my TL was getting the road noise of a frigging Toyota Tercel (and hot cupholders!).

LOL.

Hows the short shifter? I've got the notchy 3rd gear so I'm not considering the short shifter at all at this point. I'm pretty well decided on the GM fluid instead of letting the dealer monkey around with my car.... even though its only got 25k miles.

So far, I love it, definitely adds to the sportiness. AND, can shift without moving my arm!
Try the GM stuff, have that too...butter smooth!

or you could run it underneath the car all the way to the trunk and not have 0 gauge power wire running in the interior of the vehicle near rca's.

If you run it in conduit you can. If not, have the fire dept on speed dial.

Ok..there's one in every bunch. A good access point into the cabin...you have 0 awg you run it wherever it's safe, obviously.

On another note, I have nipples, Greg...can you milk me?

I run dual 0awg to my rear under the car along the driver side zip tied to points on the chassis..totally safe. There are actually holes at the tire well that have grommets on them. Pop those and good to go. Have been running for a year this way.

In conduit....right? Please don't tell me you have dual 0awg wires running outside the car with no protection. Also, did you upgrade your battery/alternator/big 3?

technically, no matter what size wire you're running, you probably run the risk of fire...no?

Either way, some conduit would probably be a good idea anyway just in case?

Yeah, I was just commenting on his wire in particular. In no way should anyone run any wire outside the car without being run in conduit or something. It won't catch fire today, and maybe not tomorrow, but one day it will!
