finally some thump in da trunk!

well gents after a year of owning my tl and readin up on threads of 'how to' and what not, i finally gatthered enough courage to take apart my baby. i started with the rear seats earlier tonight and tomorrow i will install the rest of my sound system. I bought 2 kicker 12'' L7's, 1000w hifonics amp and a 1 farad cap. my buddy who is a custom audioshop owner is coming down from bakersfield to help me with the install since he's the pro and im not....but before you give me the i will post pictures when i am complete. and man oh man is the rear seats tricky...

Nice. I'd be interested in seeing how this all plays out. I love the stock, 8-speaker, 5.1 surround sound system in my car, but a little bit more bass with some decent amplification would be nice -- although not entirely necessary in my opinion (that is the old man in me talking right there).

What color is your interior? I have a white TL like yours, but I have ebony interior. Most people have either tan or grey.

completed...almost

alright...finally finished and some pics. man this thing thumps, and i only have the gain on the amp turned up a quarter of the ways. reason i say its not completed yet is because i need new components in the doors. maybe the rockford 3sixty.2 to clear it up a bit, tony said he can get that for me for a really good price. but that'll be in the next couple of months though...well guys here they are im open to any suggestions you may have.

ubnpast:
yea true i dont adjust it much i just leave it where it is now. right amount of bass for the right amount of mids for now.

lembowski:
how is that bass link? i thought about getting one but didnt think it would be loud enough. i've read other threads about it but i didnt know if it was for me. i like my bass to rumble. unfortunately it rumbles the shit out of my car. i gotta get some dynamat or something to quiet it down a bit. and i also live in san diego and was wondering when the next meet will be.
