Finally decided to put a small system in the car.

Well, I was thinking of doing this last Christmas and decided against it but this year I decided to pull the trigger. After many, many hours, it's pretty much done. I have to say, this is one hell of an upgrade in sound.....

Well, so many DIYS out there so here are the pictures of my progress skipping a few pictures along the way...

Enjoy!

Who the hell has a square speaker....Before I cut it to make enough room for the Image dynamics...

Cut and installed with Dynomat

Rear deck gets 6.5 Alpine 100 rms 2 channels.

So many wires to run back from the amp to the trunk...

The car apart again....Something I have done many times....

Cutting the rear deck to make room for the new speakers

Four gauge 18ft running from the fused battery to the Monster Cable Distribution box.....4 gauge in..two 8 gauge out....

Starting to build an amp rack...Old Rockford Fosgate 450S for the 12 inch sub...

Mounted the 1000 watt four channel amp on top....

The garage a mess as I cut some MDF to finish it off....

Time to embroider some panels....

1000 stitches per minute...

Acura name.....

A-spec badge to match my custom floor mats....

All done...

Not digging the ACURA ontop so I will be changing that soon but I can deal with it for a little while.

A-spec badge

My tools on the right and I will put my laptop/parts on the left when I travel....

All of this work was worth the end result...Enjoy fellas!

I said I was done modding months ago but what can you do?

Once again Jon does another super clean sick ass mod! I was at his house the first day he started pulling the car apart and doing some cutting(I have some pics that I will add later on). Let me tell you something this man must be really good at puzzles beacuse his car has car been in a ton pieces plenty of times, but always gets put back together to the OEM form. Jon the sound was amazing without the Sub and I can't wait to hear it with that big ass titty of bass now installed. I am loving the organized trunk space as well, alot people are hesitant to put a system in due to loss of tunk space, but you have shown that with a little hard work and imigination you can still have a really functional trunk.

I recognize that speaker i used to have 2 of them back in high school (1999). Pioneer Premiers? do they still make those things?

System looks real nice though, i'm sure it sounds great.

You are right.....It is an old Pioneer 12 inch sub. I got it on Craigs list along with the old Rockford fosgate 450S for a steal. I knew it was old but this thing just has tight bass like it was brand new!

I am on a budget like every other american so I tried to save on the sub and amp.

I bought all the other parts brand new from woffersetc.com

-4 channel Cadence amp 1000 watts (100 watts rms x4) ordered an Alpine but they were out!

-2 Image Dynamics 6.5 components in the doors

-2 Alpine 6.5 2-way speakers for the rear deck

-1 two channel Navone LOC for the sub

-1 four channel Navone LOC for the four speakers

-150 feet of speaker wire.

- four gauge Monster Cable (18 feet)

-two 18 gauge remote acc wires for the amps

- 2 eight gauge 6 foot monstor cable

- distribution box four gauge/one gauge in....four outputs eight gauge

-60 amp inline fuse with terminals

- 3 preamp 6 foot cables for the amps

- Dynomat for the speaker holes on all four corners.

- one sheet of 1/2 inch MDF wood

-3 yards of trunk carpet for the wood and embroidery panels

- Embroidery on the panels

All this including the sub, sub box and amp I got used still set me back a grand...

Not to mention all said and done, the install (taking my sweet ass time) took me almost three eight hour days. A lot of work but the results are what I was looking for.
