a few ?? regarding a navi conversion plse.

I am in the process of a navi conversion into a 05 base non-navi tl. I dont need help with the install itself but with some other loose ends. Just some questions i have before i proceed with the task. in advance, everything is much appreciated. to add to the questions. i am looking to play dvd while in drive/ install head rest tv and rear cam in future.

1. Playing dvd while in drive.
I believe i need an 03-04 mdx video converter? any others that can be had to make this work.

2. installing rear cam after install.
can a video input/output be ran out so i wont have to take anything apart in the futre.

3. installing head rest tv after install.
can a video input/output be ran out so i wont have to take anything apart in the futre.

any help/tips/opinions are also apreciated.

To answer your questions:

1.) You need a video converter. Go to www.avelectronic.com or Google Dom's unit. I believe USASpec or Dice might make a converter too. Check the Black Market frequently also. Try also NAVandTV2Go.

2.) You can easily install a reverse camera. I used Wendy's camera (search Acurazine for Wendy's camera). You can find them on eBay too. They all have a composite video output, and two wires: one id red, which you hook up to the reverse lights, and the other is a ground. You can then hook up the blue wire from many units from #1 above to the power of the reverse lights to make the camera come on when you shift into reverse.

3.) I've never done this before, but it should not be that hard. People on this board have done it before.

sounds like all you need is Navtool and a dvd player. look in the blackmarket sponsors section.

has 2 video inputs one for aux and other for reverse camera that turns on automatically once you go in reverse if you want it like that.

1st of all: LOL to your nickname

okay, about the viewing unit, I have one in my car. It hooks up in the trunk by the dvd navi unit. But you do need to run a power wire all the way to the fuse box, and also a switch so you can view the map or the movie. So both of those thinks are wayyy easier if your car is totally taken apart. I also had to run an RCA video cable from the center console to the trunk, because I play my videos from the iPod or iPhone.

I'll PM you with how to get the unit, or contact NavTool on the forums he's the official vendor here.

no problem, unfortunatly I didn't take any pics from that part of the install... i really should have, but let me know if you run into issues. But honestly, once you got the car pulled appart, the nav2go unit is super easy to install.

the only part I'm missing is hooking up a 'nice' switch, the one I have is the one that came with it, which is dangling under my dash, not very classy.
