Exclamation Feedback Noise From Sub Ques.?

Hi all,

I picked up the Infinity Basslink last week and had it installed only to hear the engine noise when idling or start to back up. It's like a feedback noise from the sub and no one at the place where I installed in has a clue.

The strangest thing is that when you open the driver door, it stops making the noise. Tried disconnecting the factory sub all together but still no luck.

Tomorrow I'm bringing it back for a 3rd time as they are going to try and run wires from the ignition (??) something like that, and from the wires just before they get to the factory amp.

Just wondering if anyone else has encountered something similar and what's going on.

Thanks a lot.

I went throught this when the TL-S was first out... luckily JL audio had the solution.

You have to disable your "Active Noise Cancellation" feature on the Type-S...

There's a small microphone in the back seat headliner, by the lights... You have to pull that cover off, and disconnect the microphone!

Your car is trying to use the sub-woofer to cancel road noise frequencies, and with an aftermarket sub, it doesn't work.

Interesting. Now, how exactly would I pull the headliner off without tearing it? Or is there any easier way?

Sorry bro, not to inclined in that department.

Don't attempt to remove the whole headliner!!

It's just a plastic cover that sits in the headliner... go look at it, and you'll see a small plastic square with 2 TINY holes in it (where the microphone is) you have to just pop that out, and then unplug the mic.

NOPE, that didn't work. Well, I couldn't even get the little plastic cover off without breaking a side off. Man, that thing is on there permanently. You sure about this? I didn't want to pry it any more thinking the whole thing was coming down, liner and all.
