I know there aren't a lot to choose from, but I have one, and I love it.
I bought the Blue Man Group's DVD-A, called "The Complex"
It's AWESOME! Get it if you like their stuff.
I'm interested in what others are good or worth buying.

I like to listen to pretty much everything under the sun, so I have a few favorites:
DTS format - 'Gaucho' - Steely Dan
DTS format - 'Tribute to Bud Powell' - Chick Corea and Friends
DTS format - 'Love Scenes' - Diana Krall
DVD-A format - 'Vespertine' - Bjork
DVD-A format - 'Fourplay' - Fourplay
Regular 2-channel recordings:
'The Dance' - Fleetwood Mac
'Supernatural' - Santana
I would imagine Metallica's 'Black album' might be pretty good, although the 2-channel version is a fantastic recording... Same with Stone Temple Pilots 'Core'.
I've hear that the new Foo Fighters might be released in DVD-A, but haven't seen it yet.
(I told you I listen to everything!! )

I almost forgot... 2-channel recording:
'The Immaculate Collection' - Madonna
This one is also very good to demo home systems (speakers, amplifier extension, etc.)

Oh, I like Linkin Park. I didn't know they had a DVD-A.
Blue Man Group has a show that is a blast to watch. The music is a lot of percussion and techno stuff. They truly utilize the surround sound too.
Their music is very unique and hard to classify. The DVD-A I mentioned has a lot of singers with them on there too like Dave Matthews and others. It's a real treat to hear on 5.1.

I only have one DVD-A so far, and that's Linkin Park's album.
A friend of mine, who's a music major, recommended Pink Robots by Flaming Lips. I haven't checked it out myself, 'cause I've been listening to X&Y non-stop lately, but his reco's are usually good. He described the music as "soft psychedelic rock...if that makes any sense." He did say it sounds amazing in 5.1

Also "Time to Start" shows off the multi-channel format well with all the drums (and all the other things they bang on!) in different "corners" and the voice out the center channel.

A few of my favorites is Laurence Juber "Guitar Noir" from AIX Records, Seal's "Seal IV", Grover Wahsington's "Winelight" and also Eagle's "Hell Freezes Over". On DualDisc, Rob Thomas's "...Something To Be" and Diana Krall's "Girl In The Other Room".

My favorite DVD-A that I currently own is Fleetwood Mac's Rumours. It truly sounds like a different album on the 5.1 mix. The hi res stereo mix is great too. Another good one is NIN's Downward Spiral. This album takes great advantage of the surround format.

Try some online sites like DVD Planet, Buy DVD Now, or Digital Eyes. Prices will vary and start as low as $11.95 and up. Aren't CDs about $13 nowadays?

The NIN is actually a DualDisc. So you'll have to look for it in that area. The NINDoes use the surrounds nicely.
My Favorites are:
Elton John- Yellow Brick Road (great use of surrounds, and fantastic clearity)
The Eagles- Hotel California (same as YBR)
Chicago-II (Clearity is breathtaking very ravealing recording)
Inside the Music- Classic Rock
Inside the Music- New Wave
Yes-Magnification (the guitar at the beginning of Roundabout is fantastically clear)
America-Homecoming
Doobie Bros- Captain and me
Foreiner- 4
I'm a synthpop fan, so I'm dissapointed that there isn't anything other than Gary Numan and NIN out there that's somewhat in that genre. Don't get the Gary Numan, that was very dissapointing! NIN is recommended though. Because there are very few DVD-A's I've really gotten into the Classic Rock choices!

My favorite would have to be Brain Salad Surgery by ELP. Yes - Fragile would have to follow as a close second.
Favorite DTS would be Brand New Day by Sting.
Most disappointing was DVD-A Supernatural by Santana. I thought they over-engineered the whole things treating the 5.1 as a gimmick.
I would love to see some Dream Theater come out on DVD-A.

I just went to Frys and they have a lot of DVD-A's, but nothing of any real quality... except, I got the Foo Fighters 'One by One.'
It's out now. I haven't listened yet, so I'll give an update later!

If you like blues...
I just picked up a B.B. King/Eric Clapton disc called "Riding with the King". So far sounds great.
I'm not a Clapton disciple or anything but B.B. and he do go well together. Acoustic guitar sections are really clear and sweet.

Can't believe no one has mentioned Pink Floyd's "Darkside of the Moon" quad mix here. I would go so far as to say you haven't heard the album until you have heard it this way. Worth tracking down if you have da skillz. ;->

Here are my other current favourites in DVD-A and DTS CD formats:
Queen - Greatest Video Hits 2 (ripped from DTS track of the DVD)
A-ha - Hunting High and Low (DTS upmix)
Jean Michel Jarre - Aero (DTS 5.1 CD)
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here (probably a DTS upmix, but sounds great)
Depech Mode - Violator (5.1 upmix)
Marting L. Gore - Counterfeit E.P. + Counterfeit 2 (5.1 upmix)
Arch Enemy - Anthems Of Rebellion (bonus DVD-A disc)
Porcupine Tree - In Absentia (DVD-A)
Currently en route from CDUniverse.com:
Alan Parsons Project - Eye In The Sky (DVD-A)
Megadeth - Peace Sells...But Who's Buying? (DVD-A)
I need more metal in DVD-A!
But please do not suggest the sellouts Metallica and nu-crap aka Linkin Park.

I know this teeters on the Black Market forum thread, but I'll give it a run....
I purchased Linkin Park's Re-animation DVD-A after reading about how awesome it is and how Hybrid Theory was ground-breakingly-equivalent to GN'Rs Appetite for Destruction. I must say, it makes full use of the surround sound, but the remixes aren't my style at all, and really want to own Hybrid Theory
I would be happy to trade anyone the Reanimation DVD-A for the Hybrid Theory CD.
I'll let this post hang for a week. If I don't get a response, I'll go purchase Hybrid Theory and keep them both. Let me know.

FYI, one of the best places online to get DVD-A discs, believe it or not, is Circuit City Online. One of the better selections and cheaper than some of the other online sites. Check it out........

On the very confusing Duel disk that are out. They released Bon Jovi Slippery when wet with one side in DVD-audio which is very good. There are also several Sting albums out on DVD-audio. The thing is that Sting records in a higher quality level than most so the DVD-audio is very good demo disk. I have found DVD-audio disks at Best buys but they are mixed up with the regular CD's so you have to hunt. The price on them are about the same as CD's $13 to $15.00.

I believe the original concept of the DualDisc was to have 2 channel stereo on one side and a HiRez format on the other. Sony/BMG, wanting a piece of the pie opted to use DVD-V on the flip side and retain their HiRez (SACD) separately. This created confusion regarding content on DualDics. To determine what is on the disc, you'll have to look carefully at the DVD Logo and take notice if it says "AUDIO" or "VIDEO". An example would be Rob Thomas' "....something to be". Some companies will add "Advanced Resolution Surround Sound [88.2kHz/24-bit]". Discs labeled with "AUDIO" will play in the TL.

You guys who like them should check out the just released Bealtes "Love" 5.1 DVD-A. It sounds incredible in the ELS system. Quite remarkable that this one came out in HiRez DVD-A, and may be the turning point for the format if it sells well.
