I know people have done non navi to navi conversions. My questions is, is it possible to just take out the regular stuff and just put in the screen with the buttons?

I don't need navigation at all or the ambient heat stuff. I just want to have that touch screen there and be able to upload my phone book onto it.

Anyone have an idea if it will just plug right in with no navigation or any of that extra stuff that comes with it?

 

It's a fully integrated unit. All you would end up doing is skipping the DVD drive in the trunk and that's not the hardest (nor most expensive) part of the system. This isn't worth it, IMO.

 

So what you're saying is the existing plugs won't just plug in to give me radio and HVAC functionalities?

 

yes, if you don't have the nav unit in the back the screen will not work

 

The HVAC system is in no way connected or has anything to do with the navigation screen. The HVAC stuff still appears on the top screen where the clock is displayed in the TLs that come with factory nav.

Navi has AUX / XM / FM / AM / GPS navigation and some other stuff, but does not display HVAC.

I have a feeling that I just misunderstood your statement though.
