Just to clarify ...
You have a 15" sub and a two thousand watt amp which is only powering the sub and you are using stock speakers with the factory amp (sans sub input)?

Do you have any blown speakers? Have you checked the treble, bass, fade, etc... audio settings? Honestly, I think you may be asking more of the factory system than it was meant to do. I'm sure you could get the sound to be louder (at the expense of quality).

I would recommend getting new speakers. I just put in some today and it made the factory volume about twice as loud.

so do yall think replacing just the factory speakers leaving them powered by the factory amp will give me louder sound? because that would be ideal

I have to differ and here's why. If you change the drivers in the doors and rear deck which are full range and replace with 2-ways, the added tweeters by themselve will make for cleaner/louder sound at 30 compared to the volume at 30 with the stock speakers. I just purchased an 07 this week and compared to the stereo i did in my 08 Accord, the Acura is missing highs. Just my .02...

i said almost never

but that setup wouldn't make sense, it would be louder maybe but it would definitely not going to sound better.

How is getting a more efficient speaker (90db+ s/n ratio) not going to sound better than stock woofers that have now tweeters? For one the clarity is better. That alone is enough for some people. The 08 Accords "Premium" sound system set-up was similar. No 2-ways in the rear and doors but so i replaced them and the sound was decently improved. But I did all the big things like Audio Control LC7 proccessor and amps. I'm planning on just enjoying this cars set-up. I switch cars too fast to keep dumping stereo $.$$ in a car. Wheels I can swap back easier..lol.

I had 03 TL which was much louder than my 07 Type S. I only had the car for less than a month and I want to upgrade the sound system.

Whats the best way to up grade the system?

Interior speakers>Amplifier>sub

You guys don't search much.

If you want more volume, you need an amp period.

Very few aftermarket speakers will give you more volume, most will not be as loud as stock. Any additional volume is going to be minimal.

I upgraded my speakers first with very sensitive Infinities which were 2 ohm and they were barely louder than stock.

The amp will make all the difference. You can push the stock speakers at double the factory power with no issues as long as you cross them above 80hz. My rears are still stock and the volume and clarity are so much better now that they're amped.

You don't want 4 tweeters up front. It's just wrong.

You will get better sound out of aftermarket speakers but you will get the same gains from an amp with the factory speakers and much higher volume. I didn't believe an amp could improve clarity until I tried it myself.

Just remember, an increase in efficiency makes a barely noticalbe difference in volume. For more volume, you need more power.

the best thing to do is get an aftermarket amplifer first. You can tap after the factory and and reconnect the factory speakers. Just don't push the gain to high and you should be good. I think I hate Cars was running the stock rear speakers at 125Watts and they sounded a bit louder and got the job done...

Yep. 125watts with the crossover near 90hz but you won't believe how much better they sound until you hear them. I know I didn't. Now they're just used for a little rear fill but for about 3 months I beat on them hard.

The Volume is fine for me. I just want added clarity do my plan was to do 2-way infinity reference 6.5 in the doors/rear deck. Can I expect improvement using stock amp?

You will definately see in improvement in clarity with better speakers. I ran the Infinities for a year on the stock amp and they sounded great and a little louder.

However, after adding an amp, there was just as big of a difference in clarity and dynamics. People told me this would be the case but it made no sense to me and I didn't believe it. I was wrong.

I think you're on the right track with the reference speakers. I ran the Kappas in the doors and they're pretty nice if you run just the midrange but not the 2 ways or 3 ways. Just way too bright. I ran the Reference tweeters in the dash and they were pretty good but a little bright for my tastes. However, some of my friends loved them so it's personal preference. The Kappa tweeters will definately scream at you.

If I can offer some advice, unless you get a good package deal, you may want to try just the front set at first because more than likely you will change your mind on the rears. Now if you have passengers and you care about them lol, the rears aren't a bad idea. Most people into sound quality run just the fronts and no rears. I run the rears for a little "fill" but they're turned way down to where they're barely noticable.

I had a really nice stereo setup in my 08 Accord EX-L/Navi...

The list goes:
08 Taffeta White EX-L w/Navi & Menox hand controls (i'm paraplegic)
-18in Civic SI HFP wheels on 235/40 Nitto Neo Gen's, 5000k HID's, 35% Tint, OEM wing spoiler, TSX Rear sway bar (too be installed)
-Memphis M-Class 15-MCS6 Components(f)
-Memphis M-Class 15-MC6202 Coaxial Speakers(r)
-Memphis M-Class 16-MC4.50 50x4 Amp
-Audio Control LC7 Processor
-Kicker C8 8in sub in rear deck
-Thunder250

This time with this car, I dont want to go nearly that far. I trade cars to much...lol. II just want something i can enjoy my Electronic/techno/trance with the windows down or enjoy Jazz or R&B while on the interstate during a road trip.

The question is will i get this from the plans i have listed in my previous post? One more thing, I've had Inf. Ref components in my S2000 I had in college and i LOVE highs...lol. I just want a clean balance of sound to help me enjoy every tone in my music collection.

Thanks in advance. I haven't even driven the car yet as it's getting hand controls installed inb the car from my accord. My mom had 06 TL so I knew what i was getting. .

You take the signal after the factory amplifer and connect it to the HIGH inputs on your amplifier OR you get a Hi to Low converter to reduce the voltage of the signal, then connect it to your aftermarket amp.

Has anyone noticed vibration coming from there rear speakers or deck when playing the dealer supplied audio dvd while playing songs with a little deeper mid range and bass. Just bought a 2007 tl and noticed the rattling. On other music it dosen't sound like the speakers are blown. Any suggestions.

Thanks,
Rob

Do a search and you will find literally 200-300 threads on the rear deck vibration and it's fixes.
