I had my Viper 5000 installed on Saturday by a supposedly reputable shop (I should have done it myself but got free install) any way all was good until I left and noticed the front drivers side door speaker making an awful noise. I immediately went back to report the problem. After pulling off the door panel the manager showed me a hole in the speaker cone. The installer of course claimed he didn't do it and only tightened loose screws in the speaker and tried to blame the window tinters. After telling him that was over a year ago when I tinted the windows and it was fine until I left there but I could not prove they did the damage. He finally "repaired" the speaker and told me if that didn't work he would take care of it. It sounds normal now but I know the repair won't hold and when it goes they will be less likely to replace it. I am going to call the dealership tomorrow to check on the price of a new one. Does anyone here who has replaced their system have one for sale? Or do you think the repair will hold?
