Factory Cross Overs?

Hey guys,
Reading through all the old threads I'm getting the feeling that the HU is doing a lot of processing on the signal before it hits the amp. Are any of the channels full range? Pre/Post amp?

There are some freq response graphs floating around but the fronts are full range, the rears are bandpass (midbass) and sub of course is sub

Thanks. I think I may just feed the fronts to the sub then so I can choose the cross over.

The amp does the processing.

The fronts are full range and mostly flat from the HU. The rears are too.

Post amp, the signal are crossed over like you might expect.

Do you know what volume level the signal starts to clip pre-amp? Anyone hooked it up to a RSA?

I have no facts, only my ears but where I could hear distortion past 30 with everything going through the amp, pulling the signal from the HU and eliminating the amp, 40 sounds clean and clear. I don't run it up that high but it sounds very clean maxed out.

Almost forgot, pre-amp signal is flat. I only run the front left and front right to my MS8. Sub frequencies are included in these two. Looks like all eq is done in the amp. There's an old thread that has actual crossover points. The tweeters are run parallel with the mids in the doors with a cap to cut off high frequencies. Can't remember any specific numbers though.

If you use a LOC and sum the signals together that will give you the control you want

You don't need to sum the signals on the 3G TL. The HU signal on the fronts is full range and very flat - like 30hz to 22K hz IIRC.

The fronts will go down to at least 10hz as verified with test tones.
