Factory amp location on an 06 TL/NAV

Anyone knows where the factory amp is located on an 06 TL/W NAV?
And is it fairly easy to remove it and replace it with an aftermarket one (More powerful)?

Thanks.

I wanna say the amp is located on the drivers side, inside the kick panel next to the door. Someone chime in if I'm wrong. Welcome to Acurazine........

I have an 05 TL. It's on the passenger side kick panel next to the door. Pull back the door seal and pull the panel off. It's about the size of a small book. Not much room in that spot for a bigger amp plus wiring

Has anyone ever tried to replace it with an aftermarket one yet?
Or it is not possible at all?....

I too would be interested to know if others have just replaced the amp first before getting new speakers. I'm not interested in 135db sound off's but rather just cleaner sound from the existing system. A few shops have said to just replace the amp. Surely someone has done that without spending another 2k in speakers???

Also wondering where the stock amp is..

If u want to squeeze the best sound out of ur stock speakers, be sure to dynomats the door panels and speakers. It made a big difference and felt more punch.. Also the trunk interior..

see im thinking replace stock amp with jbl ms-8 cause it has output that matches the level of stock so stock speakers wont get fried but once i want to replace with aftermarket it has all the preamp outs to send to new amps. im going to see if i can get to the stock sub and if i can simply replace it with the ms-8 or if ill need to install it elsewhere and take the after amp signal
