Exclamation F-CAN & B-CAN = NG ?

I searched but haven't found what I'm looking for...though I might have missed it..but here goes...

06 AT with Nav

1. I ran the System Diagnosis Test Mode, the result of the F-CAN and B-CAN are both N.G. What are F-CAN and B-CAN?

2. Navi test, Air-Con, FI-ECU, and Meter are red...I guess meaning they're not connected to the Nav.ECU. Is this normal?

3. HFL suddenly stopped working, unable to pair (tried countless times). Could it be related to anything I mentioned above?

Thanks,

CAN (Controlled Area Network) is the latest protocol used by manufacturers to transfer date between modules. It's a slick deal that was actually started many years ago by Chrylser and their "twisted pair" technology. It would take a book to explain it all. But it's good reading if you're in to that kind of stuff.

I believe the CAN networks are similar to ethernet in the fact that all devices have an address on the bus. Data is broadcast across the entire network (or sub-network) and picked up only by the intended recipient.

There are a lot of guys out there with BMWs that have worked on hacking BMWs I-bus, which is much more technologically advanced than CAN, but they might be able to help.
