Smile DVD Video

I know this was covered numerous times, but recently I've decided to put dvd video in my TL. After going to numerous car stereo places I was given the same answer- "We can unlock your stock system to play video dvds without installing a separate dvd player, it will run you $300". The question is how is this possible if every time i search the forums everyone says that you need a separate dvd player?

Interesting.. if they can do that, can you ask them how much it would cost to remove the "Ok" nag too?

Could you ask them for details of how they plan on "unlocking" the system?

I am a skeptic at this point.

hmm..I wouldn't touch that one with a 3 foot pole! Personally, I like my systems "modular" ...in case something goes wrong, I can just swap it out. Plus our navi systems are just over $2000 and controls so many features in the TL...I wouldn't want to screw that up...and if it did screw up...can we say voided warranty!?!
