DVD-A Question

I'm sorry if this has been answered before but looking at other threads about people buying certain recorders to burn the discs. Can you just use the Dvd/cd writers that come standard on newer laptops or not? Just curious.

well, i've tried but haven't been able to copy a dvd-a. I'd be curious to know if anyone has been able to do it and how.

any dvd burner will burn dvd-a discs...dvd-a is a disc format, not a feature of a piece of hardware (dvd burner)...so yes, any dvd burner will work and yes, people have successfully copied dvd-a discs and made their own with the ripped tracks...there's a thread on it around here somewhere...try searching on here or google...it's really easy when you have the right software...

Courtesy of this thread, I have posted new info on DVD-A in the 3G TL Audio & Electronics FAQ.

In short, any DVD burner that supports DVD-R (preferably) will be able to create a compatible DVD-A for the TL.
