Im planning on doing the same thing

Im planning on doing the same thing but theres not mouch on this. I have an 05 TL and I was taking a look at it and at first I thought I might buy a Half-Din sized DVD player but then it seems as a full-din can fit. So now I read this and im kinda scared to take this on lol. Anyone have a link to another memeber who has a DIY write-up on this.

What DVD player do you have? I put a Myron Davis Ad212 in mine w/o any fitment issues. I believe it's 3/4 DIN size. I remember that it slid right in. I put some foam around it's sides to prevent skipping on bumpy roads.

I looked it up and it looks like a good DVD player for a great price. Does this DVD come with a remote control.

Yes the Myron DVD player comes with a remote and IR sensor to mount it up front. It fits no problem, near perfect fit.

On the other Question, I don't think you can remove the ABS plastic slot. Isn't the foam glued on to it. Um sure you can remove it but will it look the same. If you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself, a custom upholstery shop could do it.

Oh ok so all you did was remove the actual cup holders and you left the frame that's around it. Then you just slid in the DVD player. Where did you pull out the wires through?

Well you just drill a hole on the backside of the armrest through the ABS plastic of course, remove the leather cover first. Then just fish a wire/coat hanger through it out the slot and tape the wires from the DVD player to it and pull them through. After you put the cover back on just run the wires out the side where the zipper is. Simple!!!!!
