Hi,

I've 2004 Acura TL and just a month back I burned three DVDs to play in my 6 dvd changer and all these DVDs were playing perfectly. But for last few days none of the DVD is now playing. Sometimes player ejects the disc and sometimes player gets turned off while playing the disc. In fact it doesn't even start again unless I switch off & on the ignition. All DVDs are scratch less.

When I only listen to FM only don't even try to play any of the disc, player runs fine.

Any thoughts what could be the problem.

DVD-A music right? You cannot play DVD videos on the stock TL navigation system.

I am trying to play DVD-A and not videos. It's the same DVD which was playing fine till few days ago. And it's not just one dvd but none of 3 DVDs which were playing fine till few days back is playing anymore.

sounds like the laser isnt reading the DVDs any more.
have you tried a regular CD?


remember, this technology was implemented at the end of 2003. that's almost 12-13 years ago. electronics degrade

I have tried with regular audio CD but even that's also not playing.

Can someone advise from where should I get it checked / repaired at reasonable price and how much that would cost at least?

The radio is made by panasonic so you can give them a call and see if they have any recommended service centers near you. Usually most stereo shops repair stereos so it might be worth a shot to bust out the yellow pages and call a few for a quote.

You can buy a used one in the Black Market section for $120 from another member.
