When I go the Nav setup screen to change background color from blue to red, nothing changes. Does anyone else have this problem. hOw do I show the satelites on the dvd screen?

 

I tried that too. Didnt see any difference. What do u mean by showing sattelites on the dvd screen ??

 

I think the colour of some of the tabs change.

To see the satellites. Press and hold 'menu', then press and hold 'map' and then press and hold 'cancel'. This will bring up the diagnostics screen. Tap the navi and one of the items allows you to see satellites.

 

Not sure about the showing the satellites, but I'm sure I read it in another thread somewhere. As for changing the screen color, the change is real subtle. You will notice it the most when you view the Audio screen. Flip through the colors and goto that screen to see the colors.

 

map + menu + cancel to show the number of satellites the GPS is picking up.. it's under one oft he menus there.. press all three buttons at the same time.

 

speakin of nav - 04 acura do have OnStar right?...do you guys have a signal strength meter for the personal calling feature? i seem to have NO service ever with the OnStar personal calling system (verizon wireless)

 

No On Star in the TL

 

No On STAr in the TL. If you saw the commercial where the young man is driving to the Opera concert it seems like he is ont he ph with an On Star rep which is misleading. He was just using his hands free phone speaking with his lady friend. It looked kool, but no On Star. When I first saw that commercial I thought it was On Star too.

I have a problem with the Day/Night/Auto setting - my screen does not change to Grey when headlights are on - dealer showed me the change but now it does not work. my setting is at auto - any suggestions ?

 

For the Map itself when in the DAY Mode the screen will always have a yellow background. In NIGHT Mode the background will be black and in AUTO mode the screen will have yellow background when headlights are OFF and will trun to black background when headlights are turned ON.

 

you might have it on MAX bright.. Check to make sure the lights are on and press MAX bright to the left of the steering wheel.

 

Yup - it was set to Max Brightness, after dimming it, it now works.
