DVD Movies/Audio

Did a search, but cannot found a thread on this. Im wondering if we can play the dvd concert disks in our car? Like http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...s=dvd&n=510318
and this http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...365022-9078304 in surround sound?

I really want to buy some dvd-a/dts disks but there is no album out there for my taste can't wait for the dual disk format and a lot of new music to go with that

no you can't.....if you can watch the footage on tv with your home dvd player you can't play it in your car. it must specify dvd-a......unfortunately there aren't a whole lot of choices out right now......esp if you listen to good music (rap)

The only way to do it is to rip and convert the Audio to a DVD-A using various conversion utilities and a DVD-Audio burning program such as Discwelder.

Discwelder looks pretty expensive, and is it easy to author all the stuff into dvd-a? I went to the store today and bought this http://www.towerrecords.com/product.aspx?pfid=2697142 (dvd-a) and it sounds AWESOME! in the car i noticed sacd have much more artists but most of them look like old people music. never heard of some of them but dvd-a had better selection for me.

Discwelder Bronze is $89; that's not too bad. I've got Steel (bought before Bronze was out) and love it. The ease of authoring the "Live" DVDs is very dependent on the level of your familiarity with DVD file structure, freeware utilities, and authoring. http://www.doom9.org is a good place to learn.

SACDs can sound really good (I've got Billy Joel's The Stranger as my sole SACD) but the vast majority are high resolution stereo. I think you'd be hard pressed to hear the difference in an automobile, even on a good stock system like the TL has.

I'm not a big fan of Linkin Park (although I think In the End is a decent song), but my opinion is that whatever music you love it sounds that much better in 5.1 in the TL.
