Hello, all. This is my first official post, though I've been reading the board for some time. Need some help with this one. Just bought a new DVD-a disc (the new Kaje album) which I cannot get the TL to play. The disc loads up fine, the TL reads it as a DVD-A, track 1 appears, but before anything is played the changer kicks in and flips to the next disc in line.

Anyone have similar problems with any of their DVD-A. I own about 20 other DVD-A discs with no similar problems. I'm not sure whether to try to send the disc back as a defect, or if there's something in the way the disc was manufactured that prevents the TL from reading it. Incidentally, I tried the disc on my home theater DVD-A system, and it played with no problems.

Wow, this is the first legitimate playback problem I've heard for the TL. Most of the time it is a person trying to play a DVD-V, but I know this disc is a DVD-A. I'm not sure who authored it, but I'm sure they'd like to know about the problem. So please let the people at 3BoneAudio know about this problem http://www.3boneaudio.com/

Haven't had that happen yet. I know I tried an SACD once and it just kicked it out without playing but no probs with a DVD-A.

 

I had problems with my DVD-A. It would play, but after a while would emit horrible static through the speakers.

They ended up replacing my stereo, which fixed the problem.

 

I found another DVD-A that appently plays on other DVD audio systems , but not the Acura TL. It was Composer: Ludwig van Beethoven, Symphony #9,Conductor: Daniel Barenboim,Performer: Robert Gambill, Soile Isokoski, et al.

Thanks for the replies. I sent 3Bone Audio an email. They responded saying they are not aware of problems with the disc, but they will look into it. While they hadn't yet tried it on the TL, they have tried it on other car DVD-A systems, and they have worked with no problems.

I suspect my disc was defective, and needs to be replaced.
