Question DVD-Audio - need help burning AUDIO_TS

Can anyone guide me to burn the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders I've captured to my HD, to a DVD/R ?

I've burned the folders as a DVD-V with Nero and it works in a home DVD player, but not in the TL as a DVDA, even though it did burn the contents of the AUDIO_TS folder.

I'd like to know if there is any tools like discwelder or wavelab or something from doom9.net that can create an ISO from those folders. I looked into DVDAUTHOR scripts but it appeared to me I need to know the start sector for the MKISOFS to create an ISO.

Yeah, the start sector thing is critical to the process I scripted. From what I have seen it is needed for audio-only players like the one in the TL. You need to make the image the first time (mkisofs) so that you can instruct dvda-author (via the start sector) where to "tell" audio-only players how to correctly read the disk in the second path.

If it is DVD-V content the it probably will be pretty hard to just put in the audio_ts dir. DVD-A files (.aob) are different than their brethren video (vob) files.

If you are trying to take multichannel audio from within vob files and then make a multichannel dvd-a then freeware is going to be tough to use. Most everything I have seen involves some pricey but good tools.

I'm guessing there is a content problem since you should, in theory, be able to burn audio_ts and video_ts structures to disk without an intermediate ISO step.

What exactly are you trying to do (if you don't mind telling)?

I have a DVDA which I am attempting to back up to a DVD/R. Using some utilities I created a clean copy of the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS on the HD.

Now I am stuck as to how to burn it. Nero burns as a DVD-V but the DVDA part doesn't work.
I can pull out the mlp files but I'd rather have the whole disk backed up.

My understanding is that DVD-A uses a differenct encryption then DVD-V. The DVD-A encryption has not yet been cracked (probably not much demand for it since DVD-A is such a dud). Thus, I don't think you're gettting the DVD-A files off of the disc. If you are sure you have the DVD-A files and not the dolby digital tracks from the DVD-V section please correct me.

If you are burning only the dolby tracks, that would explain why the TL can't play the disc but a stand-alone player can.

Different encryption ...Yes
Not cracked...not exactly true anymore.

I'm guessing triggle knows what "not exactly true anymore" means and that he also used WinDVD 6 is some way to do so. (nudge, nudge, wink, wink). But he's missing something that we can't put our fingers on.

Adobeman is correct.

I was hoping that Wavelab or Discwelder could burn the Audio_ts folder. I am checking the docs for discwelder to see if it can fit the bill. It is too bad those programs seem to prefer proprietary file formats or extensions.
