Angry Dvd-a

Well I just got my 05 TL last week and have been getting to know it the past week. I gave the DVD-A disc that comes with the TL a try and loved the way it sounds.

So I went to Best Buy and got a bunch of DVD-A disks (the larger case) and 2 different CD that said Dual Disc on them. I guess one side is normal and the other is for DVD-A format; is what the kid said... Is this true? What really works in the TL? I get to the car and insert the discs in. All the DVD-A worked but the Dual Disc did not. They just came out and said disc error? What the hell?

Anyways, went back to Best Buy and got my money back. What is going on?

Can someone give me a quick lesson and let me know what I can use?!

thanks!

Dual Disc is not always DVD-A on the other side. It has to have the DVD-A logo. Some do, some don't. You need to look carefully.
Do a search on dual disc and you will find lots of info.

Holy crap! They actually gave you your money back for an open cd at best buy?! You must live in some magical place.

Dual discs rarely have dvd-audio on the flip side (most have dvd-video). Search this forum and you'll find the difference, as well as which dual discs will work in the TL.

Cheers,
And tell me where that best buy is??

You can also buy DTS discs. I've got a bunch of them and they work and sound great!!!

DTS is a 5.1 (5 discrete channels, plus 1 LFE track) surround sound format that is used for both movies and music.... There aren't quite as many titles available encoded in DTS, but I just wanted to throw another alternative out for you.

Here's the DTS website with a listing of titles available. They also have DVD-A titles, too!!
