So been doing some research and i see the door speaker clearance in the 3g tl is very small, so i was wondering what some of y'all are using in there and what modifications if any that you had to do.

 

i replaced mine with infinity reference components, but i'm sure their 2-ways will work just fine as they're pretty identical. They come with a shallow magnet for clearance and their mounting adapter seems to be pretty compatible with with acuras, fit both the TL and MDX.

 

If you're keeping the OEM amplifier I would recommend getting a set of 2-ohm components. You will likely need to modify the OEM housing to fit, or buy adapters.

 

use 1" spacer and trim whatever metal you need, you can fit very large mid's in that door

 

I've been searching and still haven't seen anyone recommend a 2-ohm speaker for the doors.

 

there are JBL's as well as some Infinity's that are 2 ohm
