Now, please go here to help, too. Thanks. https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=100
Now we know that this fix doesnt work, do we have any inside news as to when a correct one will be released. We really need to get on these PDA companies to get it right!!!!
Flexte - what happens when you tell the car "transfer" instead of clicking on the handset icon. That's how I transfer my calls. Does it no longer work too?
Also, note that their second patch has been reportedly updated and reposted multiple times. There is some hope, albeit very small, that the latest second patch works better...

Someone please update us on the latest patch???? Sorry to keep bothering everyone but I'm about to buy the SX66 and it would be a complete waste if I won't be able to pair it.
After installing both patches (BTsearchTime.CAB and i-mate_WWE_124_008.sa.CAB) I was able to both make and take calls through the Acura HFL with the PDA2K in my pocket. Everything was working as expected.
The bad news, however, is that to get it to work, I have to disable BT, do a soft reset and re-enable BT every time I take a drive. Its ok for long drives, but it is a hassle for shorter ones. Perhaps with a bit of software we could get this to happen automatically when the phone detects the car BT.
Another problem is that occasionally the above doesn't work the first time (an outgoing call did not transfer to the HFL but stayed on the PDA2K) but after resetting again I got it to work.

I got both from www.clubimate.com
Note that the second patch is version 124 (they used to have an earlier version posted; I wonder if this is why flexte had problems).
I did a hard reset (not sure if it was necessary) before installing both patches.
I just noticed they have recently posted a new ROM build. I haven't tried it yet; I don't know if it breaks or fixes things. They do say it improves the BT connectivity, so that is a hope. But some people complain it messes up stuff and doesn't fix anything, see:
http://pocketpcdubai.infopop.cc/eve/...64&f=611104143
My ROM version is 1.12.22 WWE, 9/27/04,
radio version 1.02.00,
protocol 1337.32 and
ExtROM version 1.12.169 WWE
HFL will not work unless you disable/softreset/enable BT every time the BT connection between the car and phone breaks. "Transfer" no longer works, as flexte pointed out. The phone battery and coverage is not displayed on the car display but the incoming call number is.

Don't install the updated ROM on the imate website!!
(version i-mate_PDA2k_WWE_12200_162_10600_SHIP)
After installing it, when I make/receive a call, I hear nothing. If I say "transfer", the call goes to the phone but I can never get it to go through the car microphone and speakers.
Worst of all, unlike the BT patches which were cleared by hard reset, I don't know how to go back to the prior ROM version, which was sorta working. I'll have to find the old rom from somewhere...

I would also take a look at the new Samsung i730. Looks pretty cool!

Can anyone help with the above question? I still can't get my pda2k to pair. I need tips. Thank you in advance. I say I'd give you points but we don't have that anymore =(.
J RIDE 81: It appears that everyone's situation is different.
- I had it working by installing the two bluetooth patches on the original ROM (see post#17) but installing the new ROM broke it;
- flexte had problems after installing the second patch, whereas it was sortof working after the first patch.
- I read that someone got it to work after installing the new ROM;
What's more, when I had it fully operational , it would fail to work 10% of the time (i.e. the call won't transfer over the HFL). On occasion it will fail. That applies to pairing as well - I was unable to pair at all initially after installing the second ROM, but managed to pair fine the next day (didn't change anything on my PDA2K).
It puzzles me why but there doesn't appear to be a single script for everyone. I advise you, if you have time, to install the first BT patch, try it, if it doesn't work, install the second patch, try again, if it doesn't work install the new ROM. Hopefully one of the three scenarios will work for you.
You will have better chance for success if:
- you hard reset before installing the first BT patch.
- do not restore any personal data or programs; test on a clean plate first.
- once in the car with the ignition on, disable BT, soft reset, then enable BT. That helped me (see post 15)
Unfortunately the BT patches were removed from the i-mate website last time I checked. You may be able to find them somewhere on the net.
Please let us know whether you got it to work.
