Dome Light Mod & Low Voltage

I have a 2007 TL. I added 4 LED lights on the 4 handles of the doors. I wired them from the dome light so that whenever I disarm the alarm and the dome light comes on, the courtesy lights on the handles would also come on. But this begins to happen. When I go to work in the morning, the courtesy lights would not come on when I disarm the alarm, but the dome light would come on. After I drive, then anytime after that (whenever I open the door), the courtesy lights would come on.

So, I managed to measure the voltage of the courtesy lights when they were not on but suppose to be on, and the voltage was about 5.6 v, which was not enough voltage. Thus, the reason for the courtesy lights not coming on. But after about 5 minutes of the engine running, the lights would come on and the voltage is around 12v.

So, does anyone know why the initial voltage isnt 12v when the car is disarmed?

How exactly you wired them? If you point to the wire on the schematics it would be great.

Did you use "dome supervisor" wire mentioned in https://acurazine.com/forums/third-g...ghting-847702/ ?

Every time you mention "courtesy lights" you mean your added LEDs to door handles, correct? 5.6V at the lights, before any resistors right? What is the voltage measured from ground and from power to your LEDs?

Dome Light Voltage drop

I have an 2007 Acura TL (Base). I have a voltage difference in my dome light. When I open the door and the dome light comes on by itself, I measured the voltage to be 10.21 V. But when I press the dome light button, the voltage goes to 11.21 V. Does anyone know why it does this and how to make it stop doing this, where it always give out 11.21 v?

Solved.

I figured out the problem. The reason why I needed to have at least 11 volts in my dorm light is because I installed LED courtesy lights on all my 4 door handles. And when it has only 10 volts, the LEDs are too dim. From the schematic above, (1) is where the inside fuse box that the dome light comes in (No. 6). MICU (#4) controls the lights when the doors open (path #3). If I press the button manually to turn on the light, the electrical current doesn't go through MICU, but directly connects to the light (path #2). As it turns out, MICU is a sizable circuit board. Thus, that is why the current dropped from 11.21v to 10.21v.

To solve it, I used a relay, and used the current (whether from path #2 or #3), to activate the relay, and I just draw the power directly from the battery, which is a good thing because the current coming from the battery is about 12.6v, which makes the LED courtesy lights even brighter.

Thanks all for viewing.
