DOM’s Install Causing a Problem

OK so here’s what’s up. I installed my Dom’s unit on Sunday, got it to work properly, and everything seemed fine.

When I got in my car last night and my lights came on, I noticed a few of my HVAC buttons’ lights were out, specifically “OFF”, “DUAL”, “A/C”, ‘Recirculate’, and the passenger “AUTO”.

I checked all of the fuses that I could find related to the radio and HVAC system but couldn’t find any blown.

Any ideas?

I never noticed any of the lights out except pass side heated seat switch light was not working. If under warr, just have the dealer replace them.

Where did you tap for power for dom's unit? Also did you make sure the harnesses were grounded properly?

I used an add-a-circuit on fuse 32 as per the DIY. All grounds are solid as I used the factory ground point in the trunk.

Its the bulbs. There are a bunch of little micro bulbs that light up all those buttons. I had to replace several of them on my car at different times. You need to pull the screen out to change them. The OFF and DUAL are one bulb, AC and RECIRC are one bulb, and the AUTO is one bulb. Its most likely a coincidence that they burnt out around the time you installed the dom unit.

Mine did the same thing but it was the 2 fan speed buttons. If I hit the dash they would go on and off. Replaced the bulbs and never had the problem again.

Plan of action for the moment is to continue to be a lazy bastard and see if the others come on by themselves!

But if it comes down to it I'll just have to start taking stuff apart.

As for an LED conversion, not gonna happen. I do not posess the skills or balls to attempt that mod.

I'm gonna take mine to dealer to have them replace the heated seat switch. We will see what happens.
