I bought Simple Plans dual disc that is cd on one side and DVD-V on the other... I put it in on the DVD side for fun, and it plays full surround DVD-A and says the disc is a DVD-A... is this a fluke or has anyone tried this with other music?

It would seem that the disc is a DVD-Audio with DVD video so I guess that is why it plays.

Awesome thanks for the heads up, the CD says nothing on it about DVD-Audio... I like the same CD prices too... plus mre availability

yeah although i bought a Ben Folds Dual Disc, and the DVD side didn't work

Yes it does. That's what "advanced resolution" means.

i love watching dvd and tv on the navi you will need a nav conveter and dvd player of course. I have not used the dvd audio function yet.
