Do I need a capacitor or sound processor?? Please help...

Tomorrow I will get 2 sets of Alpine Type S 6.5 components, 1 JL 3.5 coaxial speaker, 4 channel Kicker Amp, JL 500/1 amp, and JL 10W6 with red eye box installed tomorrow. He already hooked up the sub and amp and is going to make custom coverings for the trunk. I wanted to know if I need a sound processor or capacitor from someone who has gone through this. The guy that is installing this for me is hard to get a hold of and hooking me up with great price.

You may need a sound processor to deal with noise many members get with RCA converters... but you can get good music without it.

NO CAPS.... IMHO I have 3 alpine pdx amps for about 3 months now, no problems. I just 0guaged my battery to chassis but no problems before so who knows if I really needed to do it or not. I was just bored and others recommend it.

you should be fine without a cap, however you might want to do the "big 3" and as well the sound processor isn't necessary right now. Install it and see how it sounds, if a bit off, then you will need it.

I had to take back piece of junk kicker amp and bought a 300/4 JL amp and my installer got me a capacitor and he said the JL amp made a huge difference he was worried for a while. $200 difference between the two amps. He said he will never recommend kicker amp to anyone and he can't believe how great it sounds. My car will be complete tomorrow. Can't wait.

you don't need the cap...especially with the slash amps.
