DIY Plexiglass neon design?

I've noticed that someone had an Acura symbol etched onto the plexiglass on their subwoofer box and was wondering if it could be a diy. Just wonder if it is possible to attempt by one's self. Thanks

this is usually done with a sand plaster, but can also be done with sand paper. They mask the outline of what they do NOT want etched, and then spray it....You can do the same with sand paper, or they even make a spray paint type thing that gives the same effect.

Etching

It chemically etches the plastic. I did it to one of my PC windows. Craft stores have it as well (A.C. Moore, Michael's, etc.).

You can also just get a frosted glass spray. Make a templete or use fine line automotive body shopt tape and make the design mask it off and spray it.
Also instead of a neon get like 1/2 - 3/4 inch plexi and drill 1-2 small holes per side of plexi and install led's. I will illuminate the fosted or etching and the edges of the plexi.

Anytime. Also on that idea next time you mount an amp mount it on plexi and put like 4 leds in the plexi under the amp. ie take a hole saw and drill a hole smack dab in the middle of the make notches or holes and install. The edges will look sick.
