On my 650, I did this:

(On the phone)Bluetooth>Setup Devices>Hands-free Setup>Next>(Now it's scanning for the HFL)

Then, while it's looking for a car kit, I went through the pairing steps on the car's HFL. I may have had to hit "Find More" on the 650 to get it to rescan. Once it showed up on the 650's list, I entered the code and all was successfully paired.

700w works better than the 650; no more resets!

start>settings
choose "connections" on the bottom tab>
bluetooth>
check both boxes>
choose "devices" on the bottam tab....
...and so on.

That's because the Verizon Treo 650 was never fully compatible with the car, only the Sprint Treo 650 is.

here's hoping they (Verizon) spend a little more time and push out some updates quickly for the 700w.
i swapped out of a Kyocera 7135 w/ Verizon and into the T650 cause i thought they'd (Verizon) would be further along than Sprint, since
Sprint had it some 6+ months earlier...wrong!

Yea I don't know what's up with the carriers when it came to the T650. Since Sprint has the firmware that makes the T650 compatible with the TL you would think the other carriers would also get it???

So what's the story with the T700W out of the box? Does it work? Do you get caller-id info, signal strenghth, or battery life in the MID?

I'm hoping this one works out of the box and users will not need a firmware upgrade.

i get a little phone and an antenna on the display (non-nav). no signal strength, no batery life, no caller id.

doesn't reboot during the first call of the day like the T650 did...no load whistling noise when first connecting...just eliminating these problems is a substatial improvement...

No caller ID? Even on the MID on the dash? I think mine works.

You're kidding me! That's a bunch of bull!

Since the Sprint T650 has had CID and Signal Strength since June of 2005, you would think the newest T700W would be at least on par with that.

As long as it works and you can make and receive calls is the main thing I guess.

I dont think its worth it without the incoming Caller ID. I depend on that SO MUCH.

I have the Spring 650 and I love it. No problems and I get all signals, battery life and CID perfectly.

True, but I don't have a problem looking over at the huge display to see who is calling. Plus I can't stand palm software. But the form factor is second to none! Some have said that they can see signal or battery, that would be nice but I guess I'm not that lucky.

Lucky! I wish I knew why some people get some options while other don't. You would think there would be some sort of uniformity over a series of phones.
