Talking DIY: Easy 10min. Audio In for 06 TL

Well, is 10min if you got all the tools and parts ready, and is handy with wire cutting and stuff.

I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING YOU DID TO YOUR CAR FOLLOWING MY DIRECTION. ITS JUST TO SHOW YOU HOW I DID IT, BUT DOSEN'T MEANT YOU CAN.
SO IF ANYTHING BREAKS DUE TO THIS MOD, I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING.

Tools -- wire stripper, electric tape, soldering iron or wire clamp.

Parts -- a headphone plug and 3 long wires, or just cut it of from your broken headphone and use that wire.

You need to find out the correct Left and Right wires. I already forgot which is which since I did this awhile back.

Location is from the Passenger kick panel, so its easy to route the wires compared to routing from the trunk and all the pain of get to that Xm receiver in the trunk.

After its done, you can connect to any audio souce that have a headphone port.

Just want to give something back to the community since you all have helped me alot.

Wow! I wanna go do this right now, but I'm unclear which wires- In order from top to bottom, Youv'e listed: right +, left -, left -, left +, and then right audio in and left audio in. Can you list the colors of the wires (ex; black w/ silver stripes is left negative) Also, how do I do this using rca's. Hows the sound clarity? By the way, Thanks, I'll probably do this for sound from my ps2

One more thing, XM now works as a AUX-In with this Mod, so you won't be able to listen to XM anymore.

I guess you could integrate a switch into the instructions above, so that if you want XM, switch the AUX IN to "off"...

a long time ago there were instructions posted here on splicing those exact 4 wires, with a relay, so that you could switch between XM and aux with an extrnal switch controlling the relay.

i think it's in the 3g garage... not sure
