Dice Problem

Need to contact some one from Dice Electronics. I have a Dice ipod adapter but its not working anymore. The ipod shows its charging but no sound comes out of the speakers and the head unit is not able to control the ipod(ie turn on or change songs) Any ideas. I got it shipped from Travis who was a user on hthis website but this was years ago Not sure if he is still on here or not

When I first glanced at your post title on the thread listing, I thought you meant the fury pair of dice hanging from your rear view mirror.

Sorry, my bad. :gheylaugh

I dont think Travis (uncald4)? is a vendor anymore. Try unplugging the wires from the DICE unit itself and plugging them back in. Whenever mine has given me problems, that always fixed it.

Good advice. I have to do the same thing every once in a while. Keep it unplugged for a full 5 minutes. That's how long it takes to reset, per Dice Tech Support.

I had a similar problem with my DICE unit. Every once in a while it would be completely unresponsive. I contacted DICE and there was a firmware update to fix the problem. They shipped me a new unit and I shipped them back my old one.

This new unit has another annoying problem, though. Every once in a great while it refuses to pause the iPod after I turn off the car. So, I get back in after an hour, a day, whatever, and I just missed 300 songs on my playlist Oh well, I guess it's better than having to contort myself under the kick panel to reset the unit every month.

In short, call or email DICE.

Mine only picks up where it left off if I use the car everyday. If I go a couple of days without starting the car, my playlist will just start over again. If it never pauses, I guess I could go 2 days and it would still be playing my playlist. If my playlist was long enough, and the ipod battery didn't die.

That's probably due to your iPod. It just won't stay in stand-by for that long without turning off. The problem I was describing was due to the DICE unit not disconnecting itself from the iPod when the ignition is turned off. It's a minor problem and not at all as much of a PITA as what the OP is (and what I was) experiencing.
