daylight savings on 04 TL w/ Nav

Anyone know how to change the clock on an 04 TL 6sp w/NAV? I thought it was suppose to update itself, but it has not yet, I went in through pressing the MAP/MENU&CANCEL button but couldn't find it. Any ideas?

Read Owners Manual for procedure- avail free online if lost- search threads

The law only changed a few years ago moving the date of the time change
Cant expect Acura to be on top of everything!

I am just happy my computer made the switch by itself

I have a 2006 and you can adjust the time on via Setup/Page #4- there is a +/- Hour adjustment widget on the bottom of the screen.

No, it doesn't update by itself. Go to the setup menu and it should be right there. Just one click and it's done.

Thumbs up thanks!

Thanks for the posted question. couldn't find how to reset my '04 TL clock and didn't want to make a trip to the dealership.

by going into the setup, as suggested, I was able to change the time.

Appreciate it!!

keep in mind if you have navi and you change the time now it will most likely change it for you again when daylight savings time used to start. So don't be shocked in 2 weeks when the time is one hour fast.

Exclamation

In the past years, I couldn't recall I "have to" adjust my TL's clock twice per year when Daylight Saving is coming.

By this year's new Daylight Saving Time, unfortunately the clock isn't changed.

On Navi model, (mine is '04), go to Setup, Screen#4, choose Time Zone/Clock option, you should see "Auto Daylight Saving Time", and "Auto Time Zone by GPS".

Anyway, that the new DST policy doesn't apply into my TL's Navi sucks!!

Is this the issue due to GPS (military?), or Navi (Acura/Alpine firmware?)

The clock is updated via the GPS System. I would think that it would eventually update itself. It's like using a network time server on a computer.

GPS only sends out GMT the devices syncing have to apply the proper offset ie -8:00 for pst -7 hours for pst during daylight savings. It is the same for computers syncing with an NTP server.

Thanks guys, found it. I'm sure I will have to change it again when the old daylight savings time would have take place, but at least I know how to do it now!

Hell I'll just ignore the clock in the car for two weeks! Doesn't effect anything else! I use my cell phone most of the time anyway when I'm out of the house.

Well, if you use the calendar then everything will come up an hour late for the next two weeks...

i agree. when we had the DST last year when i had the car new, it updated automatically once i got GPS reception. i looked up what time the GPS is currently using by going to the setup screen (pressing down the menu, setup and cancel) and it was still using the old time (one hour behind). i believe in two weeks the time might jump an hour ahead so im also going to keep an eye on that.

This has been a discussion since a few weeks back.

A law was passed in 2005 to bump DST to start two weeks earlier. This became effective this year. Unfortunately, a patch has not been released for our car to handle the new DST changes, so the car's clock will be off by an hour for about two weeks unless manually adjusted in the setup menu.

See this thread for the discussion: DST Patches
