Having a problem with the day / night feature on the Navi System. I works only on Day mode now when set to Auto. I can get night by switching manually to the night mode but would rather leave it on Auto and let the headlights decide. Any ideas how to fix this would be appreciated.

Having a problem with the day / night feature on the Navi System. I works only on Day mode now when set to Auto. I can get night by switching manually to the night mode but would rather leave it on Auto and let the headlights decide. Any ideas how to fix this would be appreciated. I am still under warranty but hoping the fix is and easy do it yourself.

adjust your brightness level on the dash. make sure it is not set to Maximum brightness (you can go all the bars, just not max), otherwise, even if you are in auto, the navi will remain in day mode.

 

Make sure you don't have you interior light settings set to MAX. Do they dim when the lights are turned on?

 

Good point, when the dash lights are set to max, the navi goes into daylight mode.
