Hey,

I feel like I have read about all postings about DVD installs, and i have came across a couple brands that people like to use.

Accelervision
Myron and Davis
Boss
Valor

Which one is the best? is there better out there now?

I am going to install this DVD unit in my glove box, so i know the depth of the unit can't be more than 6", height 2 1/2", and the width don't really matter. So what i am looking for is a top grade DVD player, price is not really an issue.

Finally, i know that some DVD in dash units have built in tv tuners, but do you still have to run an amplified antenna for it....or is the amplified antenna just there to provide better reception? Do DVD in dash units ususally come with a TV input...or what i am trying to say is, how do i know if i can add TV to the unit, will it say something on the box? I assume that the only units that have access to TV are units that have a built in tuner, and then i would have to add an amplified antenna. Where would you buy that kind of antenna? I saw a mention to ebay, but i did not find one. I saw one by Boss, but is there one that somebody has bought that they like?

Ok, so to sum it up, I need to buy a DVD player for my dash, and if I could get TV integrated with it I think that would be cool, but I really want quality. (something that won't skip and make crazy noise)

thanks and i'll post some pics of my install when completed...i just started taking out the trim...a lot easier than expected

I understand that you have NAVI. For the DVD choice, make sure you find something that suite your needs (Mp3, DVD, HD ?, etc......) even better if the $ isn't really a problem.

I suggest you to go on google and find some review on different brand model, some sites even allow you to compare models with each others.....

Good luck buddy!

Pioneer Avic - Z2 (or Z3)

You have an awesome navi, integrated blue tooth, mp3, dvd, and a hard drive, to which you can rip any cd within 2 minutes. An awesome crisp sound, especially if you will do custom component speakers and a sub.

Plus it has a lot of cool features, I had this in my 2G, and I loved it.

BUT, if you already have stock navi, and you just want to watch dvd on your navi, just purchase any small dvd player that allows you extend the IR wire to your dashboard while the main unit sits in the trunk, this way you can control your DVD player via remote.

yeah, i intend on just buying a 12 v DVD player. Since i got Navi, XM, IPOD, and CD player all on my Navi headunit, all i need is just a basic DVD unit. My main question is, what is the best DVD player out there that is that small?

additionally, if anybody has TV in their car, could you reccomend any good amplified antenna's?

thanks
