Custom TL sub enclosures??

Does anyone have one of these?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA:IT&ih=022
....And, before you ask. No, I am NOT the seller. I am thinking of getting one and would like some feedback. It is a bit expensive, but I like how it looks almost factory and doesn't take up much useable space. They also have it in a 12" version which I am thinking of getting...
Advice??? Opinions???

I've never heard one, however I have seen a number of them in other cars. There's one azner that has one on each side. Having had a lot of custom work done on my '05, the $350 sounds reasonable vs. having someone custom build one.

I have seen a few of these in cars on the boards. There was one that I remember that he said that it gave off pretty good sound quality, but it was a while ago, so I'm not to sure about it.

ChicoOG, I think I remember the carpet in your trunk matching pretty well when I saw it and Bing is using the same color for my car.

Collecting dust you say?

Thank you for all the compliments from everyone. Two things you should watch out for..... #1. Custom enclosures that don't come with trunk matched carpet. If it was really made for your car shouldn't it have trunk matched carpet? #2. Custom enclosures that are mass produced. A CUSTOM enclosure should be made for your specific application. The specs of the box should not be decided until knowing the type of music, subwoofer model and amplifier that the user will be putting into action.

If you're buying a CUSTOM enclosure that isn't built with your specific needs in mind.... you should save you money and buy a wood box.

Excellent.... Make sure you keep it dry and warm. And never feed it after midnight. I hear you on that weather. I've got much planned for my two beast but can't catch a dry break to get anything done. So sad.

HAHAH, thats actually my car thats listed in the ebay link above. I've had it for a few months now. Initially i wanted to get both sides done, but my car has the factory navi and i was scared that somehow the subs/enclosure would interfere with it the disk. So i only had the driver side done. Along with the enclosure I picked up a JL 12W6v2 and JL 500x1 amp and let me tell you JL products are AMAZING!!! I couldn't be happier!

Anyways, as far as feed back. I LOVE the look, I LOVE the quality, and I LOVE the install! My primary intention behind this was to regain most of my trunk space back. Prior to this, i had a 2 10's in pretty big box that took up most of the trunk space. With the new enclosure i get about 90% of my trunk space back. I also have access to the spare underneath without having to move anything around.

As for the mismatch carpet, that was my doing. I was in a hurry so i took the closest he had on site. I believe the vendor now has carpet that will match. Anyways, great guy/shop to work with and they'll be able to finish the enclosure (paint, carpet, etc... to your liking.. They specialize in all sorts of custom work and I highly recommend them

Again, i know there other vendors on this site that provide a similar product and im sure they're great. I'm just providing feedback on the enclosure i bought.

I am more then happy with the results.

I got Uncalds box (did the black vinyl) with a JL 12W6V2 in it. It is NICE!!!! Only problem I ran into was securing it to the body (screws werent long enough) so now one day, I gotta open it up and seal the two other small holes I got in there, but I dont think it makes a difference since they small. But DAMN it sounds NICE

FYI being pushed by a JL 500/1

Thanks Tigga! I ordered mine today in the 12" model and can't wait to get it. I think I'm gonna hook up my Infiniti Perfect 12" for not till I can save some more money. Also thinking of going with the JL 500/1 amp....

Ok....got my car back this afternoon from Simplicity In Sound. The box from Wicked CAS looks and sounds great - my installer covered it in grey carpet and added a custom mounting ring so my oversized 10" sub (IDQ10v3) would fit. The box blends into the trunk well and looks OEM. Overall I'm really impressed with it.

Ron, That looks really nice!! I sent CAS a sample of my carpet to color match several weeks ago and haven't heard back from them. Maybe I'll call them next week to check on it.

Not sure where the carpet was sourced from, but I think it's called flexform - my installer ordered it. There is a thread for my install - amps are to the right of the sub under the floor...

Travis (UNCALD4) does a fantastic job on his enclosures. Just like Burger King, doesnt make it until you order it and its flawless. I personally am STILL waiting to get my installed (waiting on my buddy to freakin' make time). I would definately recommend going through him if you are interested.

Ok, I finally got it installed and dynamatted. It is a CAS fiberglass box with Infiniti Perfect 12" sub and MA Audio HK798 mono amp. It sounds great!! At first I did not disconnect the Active Noise Cancellation. WOW, that sound really hurts your ears that the sub puts out with the stereo off. Anyway, I'm SO glad we have these forums to learn how to fix these things...

I'm not sure why they would leave you hanging like that. If you would like the matching carpet please let me know. Even though I'm way bent about you buying the enclosure elsewhere, I'll help you out. The 3rd gen TL actually has 3 different shades of dark gray carpet in the trunk. I have the exact match for the trunk floor.

Shoot me an email or PM and we'll get that bastard box looking A+.

Old Mr. Walsh9152 doesn't really have a carpet problem. Actually his enclosure is the tastiest thing you've ever seen in a TYPE-S. Maybe some day he'll share it's beauty with us.

Well, don't feel bad, I didn't waste any time on mine, it's already installed I did do a crappy job of installing it though so I will have to play with it again another day. I didn't get it mounted flush and there is a gap at the top.. I'm not sure if the speaker wire poking out of the back had anything to do with it? I had a hard time figuring out if where I was going to drill would line up with the metal brace behind the carpet. I managed to drill and make a hole in the brace, but I don't know if the screw actually entered the hole in the brace, but the box is attached and isn't moving. Sounds nice too!
