Constant 12v in the trunk?

Hey guys. I'm new to the TL. A friend of mine needs a constant 12v source in his trunk. Doesn't draw much power at all, so I can probably tap into something... if its there. I really don't want to have to run a wire back just for this.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

You might be able to pick up 12v at the trunk light. According to the schematic there's a gray/blue wire that supplies the bulb right from the battery (via fuse #6 7.5A). There also a blue/yellow at the bulb but that's the path to ground so you don't want that side as it will drop to 0 with the trunk open.

Question Switched 12V in Trunk

Sorry to hijack this thread, but is there any switched 12V in the trunk area (12V only when the key is turned ON). i am trying to install a rear view camera, and i dont want to connect it to a constant source.
the other option is to run it from the ignition harness or Radio or Cig lighter from the front, but i want to avoid that front to back wiring if possible.
Any suggestions?

Backup lights. Green wire, left or right side of trunk lid.

Exclamation

Thanks for the prompt response.

Thats what i would have done, but since the screen for the RVC (rear view camera) also requires a Reverse signal for switching ON, i would be tapping that wire to the backup light wire, near the fuse box in the front panel.

the wiring is as below.
The Screen for the RVC has 3 wires, 1. red power wire, 2. Black ground wire and 3. Blue Reverse signal wire. All this will be connected in the front fuse box.
The RVC has 2 wires, 1. red power wire and 2. black ground wire.
Also RCA cable on both ends for video.

Will that not affect the wiring, if i connect the Reverse signal wire from the RVC screen and the power wire for the RVC, to the same wire?

Can't see how it would be an issue.

I assume the one wire is just to detect when the line is hot. The other wire supplies power to the camera. Shouldn't be an issue that they are both connected to the same source.

If you have issues, all you would have to do is switch one of them to another switched source.
