considering returning Verizon razor for E815

I got the new Razr from verizon for 129.00 at BestBuy (I added a new line)
The phone is clisk looking and all and seems to work fine with the car but I must admit its not real comfortable to hold, it cant take a normal headset(you HAVE to buy a BT headset) and the keypad isnt the most responsive.
Will I be losing anything by switching to the E815 ?
I just want a good phone...I am impressed with the reception on the razor. Much better than my LG 6100.
Any feedback would be appreciated.

SilverJ - you should be able to go to any local Verizon store and exchange it for the e815 if that is what you want to do. I am assuming you are within the 15 day trial period, right? Anyway, I am in the opposite situation. I got the e815 7 days ago and now I am thinking of swapping it for the Razr. The store already told me it is not a problem but I have to shell out $50 to do the exhange. I am still think about it. Don't get me wrong, the e815 works like a champ. I have no issues at all but the look and weight of the Razr is appealing to me. But I am suspect of its durability. The e815 definitely feels and look solid - a little bit on the bulky side though.

Btw, did you pair up the Razr to your TL? If so, did you get signal strength, battery life and caller id in the MID?

Thanks!

The only thing you'll be loosing are thr Razr's thinness and lightness.
Otherwise, the E815 is much more functional. You get a memory card slot and even the camera has a flash.

I know 5 people who have the 815. All say it's the ticket!

Razor shows signal strength, battery life and caller id in the TL.
Does the E815 NOT show this?
The Razor is very thin....however--it is much wider than the e815 and to me--it just does not feel comfortable in my hand. Not to mention the "ok" button is barely raised off the keypad--this is very annoying to me.

My Razor from Verizon shows battery life. Perhaps you need a software update.

done...

I switched it out for the E815..very pleased--everyone makes a big deal out of how thin the razor is but the reality is its much wider than the E815--the E815 is also MUCH more comfortable to hold and operate for my taste. Which is why I have a phone to begin with....to use it as a phone.

I did the opposite. I went from e815 to Razr v3c with Verizon. I was still within the 15 day trial period so I just did it. 2 things I miss with the e815 - Battery life and possibly reception (not really sure though). One thing I like about the Razr is I can put in my pocket and you don't even know it's there.

The Razr v3c from Verizon does show signal strenght, battery life and caller id.

I can tell you from having both phones--the E815 gets better signal strength than the razor. As a matter of fact I have yet to drive anywhere below 3 bars. Awesome! Also the Razor as I recall doesnt show anything on the outside screen when you miss a call....kind of annoying.
I really dont understand all the rage with the Razor. I mean it is thin but its super-wide which is more important when holding the phone. Do you really like it better than the e815 ?

My Verizon razor does say "Missed Call" on the outside screen. I think the better signal strengh might come from having an external antenna. Really what it boils down to is preference. The razor is thin and less room to carry in a pocket. The E815 has more consistent signal strength with additional features like camera flash and additional utilities.

Myself I prefer the razor now and it works great in my 06 TL.

I have the Motorola e815

Great phone. The camera is terrible (useless -- I would not save any picture except maybe on the phone).

i think the LG vx8100 is a better phone in terms of style and comfortness. i hated the menu for the motorola. too complicated to navigate through it. i traded my e815 for the LG signal and battery shows in HFL display.

The 8100 is a nice phone also. Nobody beats LG for their intuitive menus. I really do miss those as I had nothing but LG's for like 4 years. However---call clarity, battery life and overall antennae strength on the motorola blow away my old LG6100. Im willing to deal with the tricky menus to get all that...
