compustar car starter

Just had the Compustar car starter , alarm/starter combo installed through my acura dealership, only one in Winnipeg. 800 Canadian and now I have the following:

- two way FM alarm/starter with 3000 ft range
- roll up and down including sunroof, power trunk release
- two remotes, one two-way showing car started and which sensors are violated when alarm goes off
-shock sensor, anti grind, hood sensor

Super system and can be modified quite a bit, happy with it

Thats a fair amount for the price. Did they have to imbed the key chip in the dash? Now it says multi color LCD, from the pic it looks like a picture and certain parts light up to signify something and their are a few digital clock like numbers. Is there actually a color screen?

yes they put a bypass behind the dash

it cost quite a bit but I could have got it for 600 elswhere but would have lost factory warranty

Did you actually see your dealer do the install?

I ask this because 99.9% of the time they farm this type of work out to other independant shops.

As far as invalidating your warranty, only if the problem can be traced back to the aftermaket part or installation of it.

Best regards

If I was gonna get an aftermarket system our dealer offers something for about that price that text messages you and another company, and you can check the actual coordinates of the car, the catch: a small monthly fee. I just don't like the idea of bypassing my immobilizer.

The CompuStar Is a Great Alarm System. The best part about it is the 2 way transmitter. You can check to see if your car is locked or not, even shows your car being started, door ajar, trunk etc....Of course it depends on how far you are. The range on the system is great, want to go farther? Add on the Extended Attenna and there you have it. You can have alot of things added to it. I used to have it on my Prelude and going from the Compustar to factory Alarm SUCKS!

I am sure you will Love the Compustar Good Choice, but remember if someone really wants your car that bad. It is possible, so dont always depend on the alarm to save it.
