Component speakers up front

Hey I was wondering if anybody has installed component speakers up front placing the component tweeter where the stock tweeter goes. Im confused on if that would mess up the sound "image" or if it'll sound just fine. Also would I be able to fully control the treble with the stock HU. Im looking into some MB quarts. Thanks.

Ok I found a few people that did it after doing a search for the 3sixty, no one seems to complain so i guess its ok. This is the set up Im thinking about:

1. MB Quart Premium PVF216 components up front
2. MB Quart Discus DKG116 rear
3. JL audio 450/4v2
4. 3sixty.2
5. Infinity Kappa 32.7CF for the center
6. Not sure about the sub, sub amp or what type of enclosure yet- most likely a custom box tucked in the side of the trunk

Any suggestions or comments are welcome. So far I only have the 3sixty.2, I want to start ordering the rest soon. So let me know what you guys think.

I had some Diamond Audio hex component speakers installed in the stock locations and it sounds awesome.

However, I did not get to hear them in any other locations so I don't know if there is a better location. My tweets can be aimed to some degree but I have them pointing straight up toward the windshield.

I went with a 4 channel JL Audio amp and like it a lot. I mounted it under my seat to maximize trunk space.

Hope this helps.

That is not a bad idea to mount it under the seat, I guess that would mean removing the seat to install the amp. Is it hard for you to adjust the settings this way?

Yes you have to remove the seat. I had to trim the plastic vent under the driver's seat to get the amp to seat properly.

The wires and controls are positioned to the rear so I can easily adjust them from the back seat. I cut a hole in the carpet just behind the amp and then ran the wires under the carpet.

The crossovers for the tweeters were mounted in the front door with the speakers.

Also make sure the moving seat does not interfere with any wires.

The amp was fixed only to the carpet since I couldn't tell what was under it that I could drive sheet metal screws into.
