Hey everyone
I have been hearing commercials on my XM, granted its not as often as on regular radio - but I thought the whole idea behind XM was NO commercials???

Is this because I am still in my original 3 month trial? Will these go away after I renew my subscription???

The music channels are commercial free. The talk radio and other channels do have commercials.

I think I've mostly heard the commercials on the Comedy channel (150)...and they aren't station related ads, they are for motivational books, match.com, weight loss products...etc

The commercials will not go away when you subscribe. I hate that the comedy channels have the commercials. After my one-year subscription ends, I am going to cancel my XM. Why am I paying for commercials?!

Its commercial free music - everything else, commercials are fair game.

In addition to what everyone's said so far, they also play commercials on the CNN, Fox News, etc. broadcasts because those feeds already have commercial breaks. XM fills in their own, though.

I have noticed "quasi-commercials" since the day I got it mainly on "Bluesville". They will yap about some blues show and how to get tickets and such. Or, they will talk about where they are broadcasting from and how to get there. They aren't commercials in the sense that we all tend to think of bit they are advertisements none the less. As long as they are quick and not to "in my face" I can live with them.

I don't listen to the talk programs so I don't know about those

they are mainly trying to get around how other stations sometimes have about 15-20 minutes of straight commercials and then they go back to music.....such as K-Rock.....and Q104.3
